Bowel Cancer - a deadly reality

Bowel Cancer - a deadly reality

If bowel cancer is detected before it has spread beyond the bowel, the chance of surviving for at least five years after diagnosis is around 90% and most people are able to return to their current lifestyle. Sadly, most cases are not detected until a later stage and so, overall, close to only 60% of people diagnosed with the disease survive five years. The fact is that early detection offers the best hope of reducing the number of Australians who die each year from bowel cancer.

What is Sleep Apnoea?

What is Sleep Apnoea?

Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) is a common and serious sleep disorder that causes you to stop breathing during sleep. The airway repeatedly becomes blocked, limiting the amount of air that reaches your lungs. When this happens, you may snore loudly or making choking noises as you try to breathe. Your brain and body becomes oxygen deprived and you may wake up. This may happen a few times a night, or in more severe cases, several hundred times a night.
